Capture and Place
Posts images using SFTP under XP and Vista (and probably windows 2000 as well) from a web camera or other video source. Rather handy given the lack of FTP anymore. Selectable interval and storage options.
And of course 100% Free with source code availible on request (it is just kind of messy).

FAQ
The frame is black
Often this is because it takes a bit to power on, and while it is supposed to wait, some cameras take upwards of 15 seconds. It should schedule a double update though.
The frame is dark and stays dark
Cheap cameras need lots of light, you can fiddle with the settings some (they should persist through all applications), but this is just an sad fact of life. Light makes for happy cameras.
Face tracking doesn’t work, this makes me sad.
There is an option under source to turn on higher refresh rate that should allow facetracking with proper driver support
The quickcam window keeps on stealing my focus.
This is an annoyance on logitech’s end not mine, just disable the window it is kind of worthless anyways you can keep the task bar which has all the same options
I can’t capture at the super high end capture speeds my camera can capture at…
This application captures from the live video stream, for various reasons this tends to be a bit broader use, if you know a bit more about how to capture the fancy way please don’t hesitate to share.
